Thomas Theakston, Performing Arts Assistant

Tom joined CW+ in September 2018 as Performing Arts Assistant. Tom assists with the delivery of our Performing Arts programme including performances, workshops and research, he also helps to deliver participatory workshops for our Care of Older People programme and Paediatric Participation programme.

Tom read music at Royal Holloway, University of London where he was awarded an organ scholarship. He continued his studies to masters level at the University of Surrey specialising in orchestral conducting. Tom worked in church music for ten years as an organist and director of Music. He has accompanied and conducted choirs in cathedrals around the country as well as internationally in Europe and America.

Tom then transitioned into theatre, playing for and conducting shows in the West End and nationally round the country. Notable shows he has been a part of include Wicked, Mamma Mia, Jersey Boys, Miss Saigon, The Sound of Music, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Bat Out of Hell.
