CW+ and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, together with delivery partner DigitalHealth.London, has announced the appointment of 18 Trust staff onto the fourth CW Innovation Fellowship (previously known as the Horizon Fellowship).Â
Led by CW Innovation, the Fellowship aims to identify and nurture the next generation of innovators by supporting staff who want to develop an innovative project idea that will help to improve patient care and experience or operational efficiency.Â
A diverse new cohort
The fourth cohort brings together Trust staff from a wide range of roles, departments and levels, including eight doctors, three nurses, two occupational therapists, and the programme’s first phlebotomist, medical photographer and patient volunteer. Â
Although the projects may evolve throughout the programme, this year’s Fellows will be working on a mix of initiatives spanning technology deployment, medication and pathway optimisation, digitisation and staff wellbeing.Â
Building a culture of innovation
Over the 12-month Fellowship, each Fellow is given protected days and funding support from CW Innovation to help progress their project. The programme includes workshops, taught modules and action learning sets covering subjects such as change management, business case development, agile delivery and service improvement. Fellows also have opportunities to learn from industry experts, connect with mentors and collaborate with peers working on digital and transformation projects.Â
Tom Carlisle, CW Innovation Business Partner, said: ‘We’re delighted to welcome our fourth cohort of CW Innovation Fellows. This group represents a fantastic cross section of Trust staff, each bringing innovative ideas and perspectives on how to enhance patient and staff experience. The Fellowship continues to build a strong culture of innovation across our hospitals, empowering colleagues to turn great ideas into real change.’
