On 9 July, the CW Innovation Team hosted a special showcase event at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital as part of the Trust’s Research, Innovation and Quality Improvement (RIQI) 2025 10-year celebration. The event highlighted the impact of staff-led innovation projects and marked the official opening of applications for cohort 4 of the newly rebranded CW Innovation Fellowship, formerly known as the Horizon Fellowship.Â
Celebrating innovation at our Trust
Held in the CW Innovation Hub, the showcase gave Trust staff the opportunity to meet and hear directly from current and previous Fellows about the CW Innovation Fellowship programme and how their projects are transforming patient care at Chelsea and Westminster and West Middlesex University hospitals. Attendees met the CW Innovation team and explored the latest healthcare innovations being piloted across the Trust.Â
CW Innovation Fellowship – now open for applications
Run in partnership with DigitalHealth.London, the CW Innovation Fellowship is a 12-month programme that supports Trust staff to develop and deliver ideas that improve patient care, staff experience or operational efficiency. Since its launch in 2022, the programme has supported more than 60 Fellows to bring their projects to life across both hospital sites.Â
Chris Chaney, Chief Executive at CW+, said: ‘We are delighted to open applications for the next cohort of the CW Innovation Fellowship and continue our partnership with DigitalHealth.London. The programme plays a vital role in fostering a culture of innovation across the Trust by empowering staff from any department or role to turn their ideas into reality. It’s becoming a cornerstone of how we support innovation, helping to embed new ways of thinking and working across teams. It was fantastic to hear from some of our Fellows and the impact their projects are having on patient care.’Â
Benefits of the CW Innovation Fellowship
- Innovation: develop innovative ideas with expert support.Â
- Networking: access workshops, expert mentors and a peer learning network.Â
- Collaboration: join a growing community of innovators driving change across the Trust.Â
Aglaia Gantzopoulou, a cohort 2 Fellow and midwife, said: ‘The guidance, support and mentorship I received through the Fellowship were invaluable and significantly shaped my journey in the fields of digital health and quality improvement. The collaborative environment allowed me to feel comfortable sharing ideas and asking questions, greatly enhancing my learning experience and personal development.’
