Silver Social at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital

On Thursday 10th October, we hosted our Silver Social event at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital as part of the national Silver Sunday campaign which tackles loneliness amongst older people.

We showcased several of our specialist initiatives designed to support older patients within our Arts for All programme. There were performances from string trio The Bowfins and vintage swing artists, The Satin Dollz. We were also pleased to show our guests some of the work that Museum of Brands and Hammersmith Community Gardens Association carry out within our hospitals on a regular basis. They demonstrated their sensory workshops providing older people with stimulating activities and an opportunity to reminisce.

We’d like to thank the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea who attended the event, we are proud to have been chosen as his official charity this year. The Mayor will be supporting our work with the arts in healthcare and will help to establish our Arts for All Community Bridge programme across the Borough.

The Silver Social was a huge success and we look forward to the next one!
