POSTNATAL DIGITAL DISCHARGE SYSTEM WINS ‘BEST USE OF TECHNOLOGY’ AWARD

Our Postnatal Digital Dashboard system, powered by Lumeon technology, was announced as the winner of the ‘Best Use of Technology (Primary/Community Care)’ and awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the Patient’s Choice Award, at this year’s Building Better Healthcare Awards held on Wednesday 30th October 2019.

These annual awards celebrate the innovation, architecture, people, products and services that are helping to transform patient care. The Awards took place at The Brewery in the City of London.

Launched at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital back in February 2019 and funded by CW+, the innovative digital dashboard improves the patient experience, increases efficiency and reduces costs at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

The CW Innovation project was developed by Dr. Sunita Sharma, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Lumeon’s Care Pathway Management solution digitises the postnatal pathway. All activities and tasks are orchestrated and automated in real time, with the ability to get a good overview of the care being delivered. The digital dashboard allows multi-disciplinary team members to quickly see what they need to do next, and by when, for each patient to meet their discharge slot. Staff are able to communicate more effectively with new mums, and provide a more holistic overview relating to them and their baby as regards getting them ready for home.

Dr Sunita Sharma attended the awards and said: “We are delighted to have won this award because all team members have contributed to its design and success to make it our way of working. The front line team have been able to design a solution to a problem increasingly faced in postnatal care and so this recognition is very special”.
