Chelsea and Westminster Hospital is celebrating its 25th birthday throughout May and we were delighted to host a very special reception for hospital staff and our supporters on Wednesday 23rd May.

Famous faces including Holly Willoughby, Joanna Lumley, Amanda Holden, Georgia Jones and Claudia Winkleman have all sent birthday messages to the hospital’s staff praising them for their hard work and excellent care.

We teamed up with our dementia care teams at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital to engage our community and talk about how we work together with the Trust to care for our dementia patients.

Transforming mental health care with new bespoke designs

Two new bespoke rooms have been designed for mental health patients at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital. We have been working with design studio Boex and artist Ptolemy Mann to create safe, comfortable rooms for patients.

London Marathon runners raise more than £14,000 for CW+

Last weekend, over 40,000 people took to the streets of London to run what was the hottest London Marathon on record. Five of those were our CW+ superstars who collectively raised over £14,000 towards our work at Chelsea and Westminster and West Middlesex University Hospitals.

New laser enables procedures for bladder cancer to be performed without general anaesthetic at West Middlesex University Hospital

We have recently purchased a Diode Laser which is being used to treat patients with bladder cancer more efficiently and without the need for general anaesthetic.

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has received an overall rating of ‘Good’ from the Care Quality Commission following a recent inspection. CW+ is delighted to have been directly involved in a number of the areas which CQC have recognised in the report.

Sponsored head shave raises £1,077 for Sun and Stars Appeal

19 January 2018

The Twickenham and Feltham branches of Tesco have been supporting our Sun and Stars Appeal, helping to raise money to transform the children’s wards at West Middlesex University Hospital.

One member of staff at Tesco in Feltham has taken fundraising to a brave new level. Back in November, Steven Henderson took part in a sponsored head shave which was carried out by Mayor of Hounslow, Sue Sampson and he raised a fantastic £1,077 for the appeal.
