Innovation in Healthcare Finance: A call for Expressions of Interest

As part of our innovation programme, we are working with Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust's finance department to identify new innovations and technologies to support and improve processes and ways of working.

We recently ran a special call inviting expressions of interest from companies with solutions able to address improvement across the following financial themes:

  • Transactional processes
  • MI and reporting
  • Customer and supplier services
  • Risk management

Please see the table below for some more detail across these themes although the call was open to wider supplier suggestions.

Excluded from the call were solutions focusing on cybersecurity, replacement financial systems, infrastructure and hardware.

The Trust has recently been awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating for ‘use of resources’ by an NHS Improvement inspection which was completed during the same period as our CQC inspection which rated the Trust as 'Good' across all five categories.

The call aimed to identify fintech and business improvement industry leaders with technologies that can pragmatically impact financial operations in a real-world NHS setting. We are interested in solutions that are either ready for deployment or that require adaptation to healthcare settings or that seek validation in a real-world healthcare setting.

Expressions from start-ups, SMEs and larger corporations were welcome. Providers with a strong London presence, an ability to integrate with existing IT systems, ability to address more than one call theme, a record of disruption in any industry and willingness to approach collaborations in a strategic, creative and partnership-oriented way shall be prioritised.

Successful companies have been invited to meet a panel of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust C-level stakeholders and CW+, under the lead of the Trust’s Chief Finance Officer Sandra Easton.

The call is now closed.
