Recovering from a stroke

In 2017, I had a stroke. It’s a little bit like being put out to sea in a rowing boat. I was referred here to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

The care I received

The nurses, the doctors and the physios put me together like a jigsaw puzzle again. I’m very lucky that the hospital exists on my doorstep. They just care for people as individuals.

Volunteering on the ward

Since my recovery, I’ve volunteered on the ward, encouraging the patients. They’ve made me stronger.
