At CW+, we believe in the power of philanthropy to transform the NHS experience. By supporting our work, you are helping us to strive for the highest standard of wellbeing for patients and staff in our hospitals and clinics.
Transformative gifts enable us to support ambitious projects that go beyond what the NHS is normally able to deliver. Your generosity could help to fund additional state-of-the-art medical equipment, expand community health programmes, or pioneer research that could have an impact on a national and international scale. Â
Your gift, at any level, will make a difference to staff, patients and their families. By choosing to support CW+ with a transformative gift, you become a crucial partner in our journey to advance medical excellence and innovative care in the wider community.
We understand that every donor’s motivations and passions are unique, and will work closely with you to match your philanthropic goals to the areas of most urgent need.Â
Thank you for considering a transformative gift to CW+. Your support is not just a donation; it is an investment in the future of healthcare.
Our Thirty at Thirty campaign was launched in May 2023 to mark the 30th birthday of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. To ensure we continue to meet the needs of our Trust for the next 30 years, our ambitious goal is to raise £30m.
We would be delighted to discuss with you the various opportunities available to donors who wish to be recognised for their giving throughout our hospital sites.
Together, we can create a legacy of health, healing and hope for generations to come.
With your guidance, each donation is directed to an area where it will make the biggest difference, aligned with our strategic priorities and the pressing needs of our hospitals.Â
By making a transformative gift to us, you will become a close member of our family of supporters. You will be looked after with bespoke attention, and your wishes will always guide our relationship with you. A dedicated member of the Philanthropy Team will ensure you receive regular updates and opportunities to engage with CW+ and your chosen area of support.
For our most generous donors, we can offer membership of the Henry Hoare Circle – an exclusive group of committed and passionate supporters who have made a profound impact on our hospitals. Read more about The Henry Hoare Circle below.Â
When it opened its doors in 1993, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital represented a coming together of five separate hospitals, each with its own rich history and charitable tradition.
One of these – the Westminster Hospital – was established in 1719 thanks to the generosity of Mr Henry Hoare, partner in the bank C Hoare and Co, and son of Sir Richard Hoare.Â
Henry, along with three other concerned friends, donated and raised funds to build an ‘Infirmary for the Sick and Needy’ and, in doing so, established an ethos of charity and social conscience that became part of the fabric of the hospital.
Today, the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust benefits from the generosity of an ever-growing community of benefactors and charitable donors – a group of individuals, families, companies and foundations who share our commitment to supporting our local communities and providing the best possible care for our patients and their families.
To recognise the immense contribution this group continues to make to our hospitals and in honour of one of our most important founding patrons, we founded the Henry Hoare Circle. Membership of the Circle is offered to our most generous donors who, as well as providing financial support, set an example for others to follow and embody the charitable ethos that Henry Hoare established for our hospitals over 300 years ago.
