Gifts in kind

We are incredibly grateful for our community’s ongoing generosity and support for our hospitals. While many of you wish to donate physical gifts for our patients and staff, we kindly encourage you to consider making a monetary donation instead.

Your donation can directly support specific areas, such as the Playteam, enabling them to purchase the toys and play equipment they truly need.

Toys and clothing

If you already have physical items to donate, including toys and clothing, please get in touch with us at fundraising@cwplus.org.uk. We will work with the hospital teams to determine on a case-by-case basis whether the items being offered can be used in our hospitals, and arrange delivery if they can.

Please note that second-hand toys must be in good condition and able to be wiped down.

Artworks

We have an extensive art collection in our hospitals, so we understand that you may want to donate a gift of artwork. If you are considering such a gift, we would ask you to contact us beforehand so that we might discuss your intentions with you further.

We only accept donations of art that we are able to look after and that meet our acquisitions criteria. These may be slightly stricter than other institutions, because our collection is on display in a hospital environment. For this reason, we can only accept artwork on the condition that, should we want to, we would be able to sell it.

What we cannot accept

Unannounced drop-offs – we may not be able to use the items, and rehoming them is a challenge.
Soft or fluffy toys, due to infection control – unless they are new and wrapped, in which case we will review them with the relevant teams.
Large/multiple pieces of hospital equipment. There should be a sticker on all equipment with the supplier’s details – please contact them to pick up the item(s) so they can be put back into circulation. Used boots and braces cannot be reused owing to the fabric and foam components.
