In this video, Jonathan credits staff at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital with saving the life of his daughter, who was born prematurely at 28 weeks. His way of thanking them was to run six marathons in the desert to raise money for a specialist incubator.
India's early arrival
India was born at 28 weeks, so very, very premature. She was in an incubator in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for just under two months.
The support we received
The darkest moment was just after India was born, not being able to do the most natural thing and hold your baby close. It was incredibly tough. I always had hope. I had trust in the staff to save India’s life. They had become like a family. She couldn’t have been in better hands.
Seeing India today
The hospital makes these miracles happen. India is now three years old, full of joy, laughter, very loving and very kind.
Giving something back
I ran six marathons in the desert to raise enough money to buy a specialist incubator. It fills me with a lot of joy, being able to give something back to the hospital.
Why I chose to fundraise
CW+ is such an important charity. I would encourage anyone to get involved in any way they can. There are always improvements to make that will help people heal faster and grow faster.
