CW+ is the official charity of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Our vision is to enable every patient to receive outstanding care, in our Trust’s community of more than 1.5 million people and beyond.Â
Our mission is to work with our Trust to create world-class facilities, drive innovation and research, and enhance patient and staff wellbeing. Using our expertise in partnership building, arts in health and healthcare innovation, we develop creative solutions to support an evolving NHS.
Our values reflect the positive, supportive culture at CW+ and underpin the work we do. We are:

On 13 May 1993, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II officially opened Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. It was, at the time, the most technologically advanced hospital in Europe.
It was built to bring together the services of Westminster Hospital (the first hospital in the world to be funded entirely by public subscriptions and gifts), Westminster Children’s Hospital, St Stephen’s Hospital and St Mary Abbots Hospital.

With a design that was a groundbreaking departure from the impersonal hospitals of old, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital soon became a landmark centre in London and a model replicated by other health systems across the world.
An ambitious and pioneering hospital arts programme was established from the start, with renowned pop artist Allen Jones’s 18m-tall sculpture, ‘The Acrobat’, being built into the foundations of the atrium.

CW+ continues to honour and expand on this important legacy. We are proud of the part we – and our generous community of supporters – play in driving the development of new treatments, technologies and models of care.
In September 2015, West Middlesex University Hospital merged with Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, forming Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
