We are delighted to announce that a new exhibition has been installed at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital as part of our collaboration with Chelsea Arts Club. Since 2017, we have worked with Chelsea Arts Club as part of our Arts in Health programme which aims to improve the hospital experience and environment for patients, their loved ones and staff. Revolving exhibitions of the Club’s members’ work have been displayed and this is the latest exhibition in the series since the start of the pandemic.
The display includes works from 22 artists, all members of the Chelsea Arts Club, including Jonathan Delafield Cook, Glen Baxter, Luke Elwes, Alan Kitching and Jo Vollers, and exhibits a wide variety of mediums including photography, painting, charcoal drawing, illustration, and paint. It has been curated by fellow Members, Ginger Gibbons and Francis Tinsley and many of the works are available to buy.
The exhibition celebrates our ongoing creative partnership with the Club and several artists are already represented in the extensive CW+ art collection throughout the hospital. The artworks are displayed in the ground floor corridor and the first-floor walkway for staff, patients and families to enjoy.
Sarah Delafield Cook, Events Director at Chelsea Arts Club, commented: “It has been a great pleasure to introduce the work of these artists to the hospital in the latest installation. It is a fantastic way of celebrating our ongoing relationship and this next installation is truly wonderful – we hope people across the hospital enjoy the exhibition as much as we have enjoyed curating it.”
Trystan Hawkins, Arts Director at CW+, added: “We are thrilled to be exhibiting another really exciting collection of works by members of the Chelsea Arts Club. It has been fantastic working with the Club for a number of years to bring unique works to the hospital, and this next installation not only celebrates our continuous special relationship, but we are sure will be thoroughly enjoyed by our patients, visitors and staff.”
