Silkscreen Studies

This print exhibition is guest curated by Underway Studio founding members Caitlin Parks and Melissa North, who are also past CW+ collaborators. The exhibition is a celebration of the screen-printing process itself, featuring works created through the free layering of stencils and a willingness to go wherever the creative flow leads.

All works on display are available to buy framed or unframed, with prices starting at £90. For enquiries, please contact Laura Bradshaw, Arts Programme Manager, at laura.bradshaw@cwplus.org.uk.

You can find the artworks by Lift Bank C, Ground Floor, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Chelsea Arts Club

Since 2017, we have collaborated with the Chelsea Arts Club to host exhibitions of its members’ works at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Media used in the pieces include oil, pastel, photography, ink, prints and even Lego.

The renowned Chelsea Arts Club has been based in Kensington and Chelsea for more than 100 years, and several of its artists are already represented in our extensive art collection.

You can find artworks from the Chelsea Arts Club in two spaces at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital: the Ground Floor corridor between Lift Bank C and D, and the first-floor walkway between Lift Banks B and C.

We admire how CW+ integrates art and design into everyday hospital life, recognising the positive benefit that has on the experience of patients and staff. We are thrilled to be a part of it

Past exhibitions

Take a look at some of the previous exhibitions that have been on display in our hospitals.

Photographer James Kent spent time in the Queen Mary Maternity Unit at West Middlesex University Hospital, capturing a day in the life of the unit. The resulting images were on display in the hospital’s atrium in September/October 2024 before being added to our permanent collection. See the full series of images on James’s website.

From May to August 2024, the ground-floor exhibition space at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and the first-floor lift lobby corridor at West Middlesex University Hospital displayed our first-ever staff art exhibition.

These portraits of Sutton Estate residents are the result of a social history project carried out by Clarion Housing, SMART (St Mary Abbots Rehabilitation and Training) and Chelsea Community Champions.

Residents shared memories of life in Chelsea, as well as their hopes for the estate’s future and for the regeneration project that was completed in September 2024. Many of them have been treated at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and benefit from the activities that take place in the CW+ Studio.

This photo exhibition by Natalie Meagan-Blake was on display on the ground floor of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital to mark Endometriosis Awareness Month 2025. Natalie has been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, fibroids, adenomyosis and ovarian cysts. She is being treated at Chelsea.

The photos show the powerful journey of people with endometriosis. The first part of the series portrays the anxiety, courage and vulnerability experienced before undertaking treatment. The second part captures intimate moments just before surgery, when unwavering support from a loved one provides comfort and reassurance. The third part focuses on post-surgery outcomes and recovery.

The exhibition was an invitation to all women facing similar struggles to feel seen, supported and understood throughout their journey with endometriosis.
